Base Jacks, U-jacks
- Purpose: Provides a stable and level base for scaffolding verticals (standards), especially on uneven ground.
- Design:
- A solid steel stem with a threaded rod for height adjustment.
- A flat base plate (usually 150mm x 150mm) at the bottom to distribute the load.
- Allows vertical adjustment for leveling the scaffolding structure.
- Ensures uniform load distribution to the ground
- Supports horizontal members like beams or formwork in slab and wall construction.
- Design:
- Similar to a base jack but with a U-shaped head instead of a flat plate. o Threaded rod allows height adjustment.
- The U-head cradles timber or steel beams securely.
- Function:
- Holds and adjusts the level of beams or formwork. o Commonly used at the top of vertical props or scaffolding systems.
